Last Christmas party...

Last week I had a Christmas party - the last one of the season.  It was my work party, and they decided to have it after the New Year because everyone is so busy in December.
Usually we just have dinner somewhere, but this year they decided to change it up and a vote was taken.  We ended up doing something unusual for a Christmas party.

Yes - we went bowling!

We had a room to use for food, and our own section of lanes.

We started with pizza, pasta, salad and goodies.

Here is our Activity Director, Business Office Manager, Social worker and a CNA waiting to bowl.

We even had some little ones at this years party. One lane was set up with bumpers and this ball roller.  They had a blast, and so did we.
I haven't bowled for years.  Can you believe I got three strikes in the first game?  I balanced that out with enough gutter balls that my score was 71.  :)   Oh well - we were all in the same boat, and we all just laughed about it.

I always find it very busy for Christmas as everyone wants a party at the same time. Through a few office parties in there and it becomes very hectic. So I like your office idea. It is a fun way to start the New Year!

That's a great idea...to have it later and to go bowling! I haven't been bowling since college!

What a great idea for a party! Love it! It's always good to get away from the workplace and enjoy the family we work with. We used to bowl alot! Haven't done it in years. That would be a fun family thing to do with two older babies anyway.

Oh, what fun! I love bowling and often we go on my birthday which is also my son's birthday :) It looks like you and the ladies thoroughly enjoyed yourselves. And what a great idea to have the party after the busyness of the holidays.

Enjoy your week, Mari. Hugs!

What fun! Looks like you work with a good group of people. Great idea to have a work party after Christmas - something to look forward to in the "post-holiday" let down. Enjoy this coming week!

What a great idea!! I haven't been bowling in years...over 35 years! Joe used to be in a league, but he hasn't been in years either. I think he does still have his bowling ball. Thanks for sharing the fun!

Sounds like it was good fun for all. I know the food was good and it is cute to see the little ones play.

HI Mari! This sounds like so much more fun than a dinner at a hall. Lots of mingling and laughter!
Congrats on the three strikes too :) I've never seen that chute thing for the kids. I might have to request one for myself the next time I go bowling!
Blessings,
Ceil

Three strikes is good, well done. I'd be playing in the kids lane. Ha.

Three strikes? Well done you! And such a great idea for a party. I can't believe December gets so crowded that Christmas parties must be held in January. I just can't do Christmas after the new year ... and yet here I sit with Andrew's presents stacked up on the hearth beside me. I hope he gets home to open them before next Christmas. He was delayed getting out of Guam and is only just now back in the lower 48 and trying to make it to Knoxville, He goes back to Guam on January 28th for another month. I don't know how he does it. xoxo

That's smart to have the party after Christmas.
My last 2 bowling excursions didn't turn out so well for me. The most recent and, since I hadn't bowled in several years, ended up with a pulled muscle in my back.
The second most recent is actually pretty funny and I amazingly didn't hurt myself after crossing the line and hitting the slicker-than-snot part of the floor. One minute I was up, the next I was flat on my back. Then I couldn't get back up because it was too slippery (and I was laughing to tears). A friend finally managed to help me to the gutter where I could get a grip.
I had no idea the floor was slick like that.
